The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, or installing pipes, fixtures and other plumbing related components used for water distribution and wastewater disposal. The Journeyman Plumber should have extensive experience troubleshooting, repairing and installing plumbing systems. Aside from performing service calls, this individual is responsible for training assigned apprentices. This individual should have a journeyman’s license and have at least 4 years of experience in this industry.

General Purpose of the Position

The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, or installing residential and commercial plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic and complex troubleshooting of Plumbing Systems.
  • Able to independently repair or replace Plumbing Systems.
  • Perform water treatment related service calls appropriate to experience.
  • Create Invoices
  • Complete required service call documents
  • Able to independently perform service and installation estimates
  • Properly document service calls by taking pictures.
  • Write descriptions of work and recommendations of work.
  • Keep stock and good care of service van.
  • Proficient using plumbing tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Complete continuing education courses
  • Working to obtain other relevant credentials
  • Trains and promotes apprentice and junior level technicians
  • Accountable for training and success of assigned apprentices
  • Serves as a mentor to junior and mid-/level technicians
  • Represent company’s brand per company uniform policy and help enforce this with assigned apprentices
  • Proved exceptional customer service that represents the company’s brand

General Purpose of the Position

The Septic Installer is responsible for installing new septic systems and identifying repair needs for wastewater systems and other plumbing related components used for wastewater disposal. This individual should have proper certifications or be willing to obtain proper certifications that allow the Septic Installer to perform state wastewater system inspections.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience installing residential septic systems
  • Experience operating an excavator to dig trenches for installation of septic tanks, drain lines for new systems, and sewer connections.
  • Must be able to read blueprints to determine location of the septic tank and drain field installs
  • Strong customer service, listening, interpersonal, and communication skills

The Apprentice will work alongside experienced technicians to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, or install pipes, fixtures and other plumbing related components used for water distribution and wastewater disposal.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the basic troubleshooting of Well Pump and Plumbing Systems.
  • Assist in repairing or replacing Well Pump and Plumbing Systems.
  • Perform Plumbing related service calls appropriate to experience.
  • Create Invoices.
  • Complete required service call documents
  • Properly document service calls by taking pictures.
  • Write descriptions of work and recommendations of work.
  • Perform short scale estimates and quotes.
  • Properly keep stock and good care of service van.
  • Will gain proficiency using plumbing tools, materials, and equipment.

Qualifications 

  • No experience necessary. Willing to train and educate highly motivated individuals looking for a career in the plumbing and well pump industry!
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school desirable, but not required.
  • Willing to obtain Water Samplers Certification
  • Willing to participate in an apprenticeship program
  • Good mechanical and technical skills; interested in gaining experience reading technical designs and blueprints.
  • Willing to learn how to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Interested in learning about piping and ventilation systems.
  • Ability to work on call rotating hours.
  • Strong customer service, listening, interpersonal and communication skills.
